This bridal session in the Arizona desert actually took place two days after this beautiful couple got married! When this bride first contacted me about photographing her wedding, she told me two things. The first was that she had a lot of family traveling to Arizona from Colombia for the wedding. The second was that she really wanted some magazine-style and dramatic photos of her and her new husband. Knowing how important this was, and how she would want time to spend with her long-distance family members on their wedding day, I suggested we do a “day-after” session.
More and more of my couples have been opting to put their wedding clothes on one more time for an additional session. I personally love these sessions! Some couples opt to do them as a “first look”. I’ve found that these relieve some anxiety from the actual wedding day. If you still want the traditional aisle first look, a session on a date after the wedding is an option! Whatever you choose, you’ll be able to give yourself some extra time on your wedding day and make the most of your session. We can choose any epic location you could possibly dream of for your wedding photos by doing it this way!
Bridal session with an Arizona desert landscape in Phoenix
The bride and I chatted about lots of different options for this bridal session location, including landmarks like the Grand Canyon and Horseshoe Bend. The couple ultimately decided to go with a personal landmark, and chose South Mountain, which is where they got engaged! After a short hike, we got our reward of mountain views and an expansive desert landscape. We even got a classic colorful Arizona sunset to end the night.
This gorgeous wedding gown was one of it’s kind at Luv Bridal. The classic lace bodice and full layered train were a perfect contrast to the desert landscape.
Everyone gets a little concerned when they see clouds at their session. As a photographer, I get excited when I see them. They create perfect soft lighting and a dramatic sky, especially at sunset!
How perfect is that crescent moon? That moon was the perfect touch and a great end to this session. First look and day-after sessions like this one can be added onto wedding packages for a discounted price! Contact me now for full package and pricing information.
