A beach wedding in Malibu, California is on plenty of photographer’s bucket lists. The ocean breeze and gorgeous cliffside of Point Dume make perfect backdrops for an intimate wedding. This summer I was so lucky to escape the heat of Arizona for lots of beach shoots. This dreamy tiny wedding rounded off my Pacific Coast Highway trip and gave me all the Malibu vibes I could ever want.

This altar styled by Copper and Currant used florals and candles to create a simple ceremony space. The rocky cliffs made an epic backdrop for the bride and groom to say their vows while barefoot in the sand.

Bridal Hairstyle made for the beach

Big, boho, bridal braids are probably my favorite wedding trend at the moment! They can be done so elegantly, and they can also be done a little messy. A windswept style like this one is the perfect look for a Malibu beach wedding! This wavy half bridal braid hairstyle was done for the bride by Kayla Nicole.

This wedding dress from The English Department and designer Elizabeth Dye was the shining star of the day, which makes sense since it is called the Xanadu Gown! Those full sleeves and the lightweight skirt were a perfect pick for this beach wedding. The unique pattern and sequins of the beading throughout the gown gave it an extra nautical touch.

An intimate Malibu beach wedding celebration

I love elopements and tiny weddings, but I think my least favorite part of them is that couples often forget to do something to make celebrating extra special! I think this is because the focus of intimate days are often to make them simple and low-key. And while simple is my favorite part about tiny weddings, the point is to spend it with the people closest to you! That is why I always recommend either going to a nice dinner together, or setting up a special celebration! With the help of Copper and Currant, this couple hosted a beach picnic-style candlelight dinner for their reception!
